Organization Overview
The Islamic Circle of Mercer County (ICMC) in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, established in 1999 is a vibrant, growing non-profit Muslim community organization that has been serving the area for over 25 years. In 2012, the community received approval to build a new three-story masjid. Alhamdulillah, the project was completed in 2015 and we now offer a wide range of programs including:
Five daily prayers
Jumuah prayers
Full Time Hifz School
Weekend school
After School Program
Sisters activities
Islamic learning classes

Role Summary:
ICMC is seeking a full-time Imam to provide religious guidance, scholarly teaching, and leadership to our diverse community in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Quranic Arabic, enabling communication with our effective communication with our diverse English speaking community while maintaining scholarly depth in Islamic sciences. The Imam will lead daily prayers, oversee our Hifz Program, provide Islamic education, offer pastoral counseling and represent the masjid in the broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the five daily prayers, Friday Khutbah and organize weekly halaqas.
Establish office hours for the community.
Lead the Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan
Provide Islamic religious guidance and leadership to the ICMC community
Deliver scholarly teaching and educational programs for adults and youth
Lead ICMC as a unified, welcoming Muslim community open to all backgrounds and cultures
Oversee and expand educational initiatives
Engage with the broader community to promote friendship, understanding, and positive relations between Muslims and non-Muslims
Qualifications:
Alim degree from an accredited Islamic Seminary or equivalent scholarly training.
Strong knowledge of the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
Hafiz of Quran preferred to lead our Hifz School.
Proven experience in Islamic leadership, teaching, and community building
Ability to connect with and serve a diverse Muslim community
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment
